Keep ownership with the business
The domain, website, ad manager, analytics and payment accounts should usually belong to the business. Giving an agency ownership can make a later transition difficult. Inventory the accounts and identify the primary administrator first.
Share roles, not passwords
Use platform invitations and the minimum necessary role instead of sending a shared password. Keep two-factor authentication enabled and limit access to payments and customer data.
- Domain and hosting administrator
- Marketplace store roles
- Advertising and GA4 access
- Payment and invoicing permissions
Plan the exit before starting
Decide which files, campaigns and reports must be handed back and how permissions will be removed. Keep an access register and review old users periodically.
