How to organize product photography production and approval
Connect the shoot brief, asset naming, rights review and channel publishing steps in one workflow.

Tie the shoot brief to product data
A product name alone is not a sufficient brief. Specify variants, scale, important details, usage context and each channel’s image rules. Photos must represent the actual product without misleading buyers.
Standardize file stages
Keep raw captures, selected frames, edited versions and publish-ready files distinct. Include SKU and variant in the file name; do not mix ad creative with a product’s primary image.
- Image rights and model releases
- Order of primary and detail images
- Web-appropriate dimensions and compression
- Alt text and page context
Review after publication
Check for channel cropping, wrong-color mapping and mobile sharpness. Reduce unnecessarily large files for speed, but not so aggressively that product detail becomes unclear.
